I’ve been looking into ghostwriting services because I have a book idea but don’t have the time or writing experience to turn it into a complete manuscript. I’m curious to hear from people who have actually worked with a ghostwriter.
From what I understand, a good ghostwriter should do more than simply write the words. They need to understand the author’s ideas, voice, audience, and goals, while also helping organize the material into a readable book.
I’m also wondering how much involvement the author should have during the process. Personally, I’d prefer to stay involved with interviews, revisions, and feedback rather than simply hand over an idea and wait for the finished manuscript.
Would appreciate hearing about both positive and negative experiences. I’m mainly interested in practical advice on what to look for, what red flags to avoid, and how to make sure the collaboration works well for both the author and the ghostwriter.
