I’m curious what everyone considers important when choosing a professional ghostwriting agency. There are plenty of agencies offering ghostwriting for memoirs, business books, novels, self-help books, and other projects, but the quality and process can vary quite a bit.

For me, the most important things would be the writer’s experience, communication, confidentiality, editing process, and whether the agency actually takes time to understand the author’s ideas and writing style. A good ghostwriter should be able to turn someone’s rough ideas into a well-structured manuscript without making the book feel like it was written by someone completely different.

I’d also recommend asking about the agency’s workflow, revisions, deadlines, pricing, and ownership rights before signing an agreement. Reviews and previous samples can also help when comparing different agencies.

Has anyone here worked with a professional ghostwriting agency? What factors did you consider before making your choice, and was the experience worth it?
